FAQ

what are fine art prints?

Fine art prints are art reproductions created with specialized printers. Instead of using regular ink which is based on dye, fine art printers use pigment ink. The difference is that pigment ink is archival and dye ink is not. Dye ink will lose it’s color and saturation of time a lot faster than dye ink. I’m using Canon and Epson printers with ink that is certified to last for at least 100 years without fading. The paper types I use are from Hahnemühle and Innova, both supply acid free paper which guarantee archivability.

the difference between a fine art print and a giclée print?

nothing at all, just a different name

the sizes of my fine art prints?

All the sizes of the fine art prints on this site are the paper sizes. The printed size is always smaller because all prints have a white border of up to 2,5 cm (1 inch) around them. This makes handling and framing the prints a lot easier. Some prints, with the panorama tag, will have a larger white border due to the fact that the aspect ratio of the image is different.

what if I need a different size for my frame?

In most cases, I can provide you with a custom sized fine art print. Just drop me a note and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

can I preview a painting on my own wall?

Yes, you can. Send me a photo of the spot you have in mind for one of my paintings and I will put the painting on the wall so you can get a really good idea how that would look. Just keep the angle of the wall within reason and I can make the preview look very real. Just drop me a note throught the contact form.
